Nailing Your Next Road Trip
As some of you might be aware we spend a whole bunch of time road tripping the north and south coast of NSW. Our all time most travelled and most visited place is Seal Rocks. Our little tropical oasis only 3 hours north of Sydney, its safe to say we have had our fair share of road trips mishaps and road trip nails.
In order to nail your next road trip here are a few items we suggest you have on your ‘must have’ packing list.
An EPIC playlist – view our road trop playlist here
Snacks, you could go healthy if you wanted to…but where’s the fun in that? (a packet of chips, starbust lollies and a mineral water are my go to road trip items)
A good book, my absolute favourite read to date is ‘First, We Make the Beast Beautiful’ by Sarah Wilson
A good pair of headphones, and if you like to sing along with your fellow road tripper, you need to get your hands on a double headphone jack. This makes you both look like crazy people singing at the top of your lungs driving 110km down the free way.
A car charger – this is a MUST!!!!!! To make sure you reach your destination without having yourself go absolutely bonkers, you need to buy yourself one of these before you set off.
A pillow – please note….ONLY FOR PASSENGERS!!
Your pre-downloaded iPhone map in case you lost reception and have no idea where you’re going.
Comfy travelling clothes – my fall back options are my seed drop crotch pants and seed top paired with my springcourt hightops, AND a jumper just in case.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST – make sure you’ve got good company, enough wine, cheese and chocolate to last you the week/weekend and a Laine bikini!
ROAD TRIP MISHAPS
What you don’t need on a roadtrip..
TOO MUCH WATER….AH HELLO RANDOM DROP TOILETS ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY…..ITS LOVELY TO MEET YOU BUT MAN ID PREFER IF I DIDN’T HAVE TO.
TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE, SALTY, DEEP FRIED FOOD. This is what makes you need to go to the loo…..try and avoid the extra stops, especially at the random drop toilets as much as you can!
Don’t pack a portable DVD player, road trips are an amazing time to take in roads you may not travel and sites you may not see. FORGET the portable DVD player and play a game of eye spy or car cricket. Those with kids have an excuse!
Most importantly, stay safe, stop every 2-3 hours and have a break, swap driving and DO not forget your LAINE bikini.
LOTS OF LOVE,
