Mango Madness


HOLY MANGO, its mango season baby! Those delicious, juicy, tropical mangoes are one of our favourite things about summer. There is nothing better than sitting on the beach, in your Laine Uluwatu full piece peeling back the skin of a juicy mango. A mango for every meal of the day keeps the doctor away ;)….well maybe not but its definitely worth a try.

To celebrate their long awaited arrival, we have complied a list of our all time fav ways to eat mango for you to try out this summer. Mango is an incredibly versatile fruit, so make sure you keep reading to find out our favourite mango recipes, and I’m not kidding…there will be a recipe for each meal of the day, plus more! YAY!


Mango Smoothie

1 ripe mango

1 ripe banana (optional)

1/8 cup of coconut flakes

Coconut yogurt


Unsweetened almond and coconut milk

Oats and chia

Mango & chia seed pudding

1-cup coconut milk

3 tbsp. chia seeds

2 tbsp. honey or maple syrup

½ tsp. vanilla extract

1 fresh mango, peeled and chopped

Desiccated coconut


Add chia seed and coconut in a jar alongside honey and vanilla and leave overnight. When ready, layer with pureed mango and your coconut flakes. Delish!


Mango & prosciutto salad

1/3 cup of olive oil

3 tsp. white wine vinegar

1 tsp. mustard

Salt and pepper

2 mangos

2 bunches rocket


½ red onion


Add all wet ingredients together and whisk, cut the mango cheeks and cube, add rocket into a bowl with mango and onion, drizzle with your wet ingredients.


Mango salsa with salmon

2 mangos

Chilli flakes (to taste)

1 tbsp. lime-juice

½ small red onion

Handful fresh mint

Garlic clove, crushed

Kaffir lime leaf


Combine all ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate, serve with pan-fried salmon.


Mango sorbet

3 ripe mangos – frozen!

Sweetener (optional)



Mango & coconut popsicles

3 cups of ripe mango

1 ½ tbsp. chia seed

1 ½ cup of coconut water


Blend, poor into popsicle moulds and allow to freeze. Over night is best!

Mango Daiquiri

6 mangoes chopped (freeze them if you want a frozen daiquiri)

1 ½ cup of white rum

1 ½ cup of vodka (or to the likes of your individual taste ;)

6 lemons, all juiced baby!

1 cup sugar syrup or natural sweetener

6 cups of ice, crushed
